Committed to our core mission — everything in one place — we're excited to announce our newest feature. Built with integrity, our registry is designed to be more transparent, authentic, and trustworthy than the AKC. Easy to use, register, and transfer dogs — and it integrates perfectly with the system you already know.
An AKC registration doesn't guarantee a dog's quality. We wanted to create a system that lets buyers, at a glance, see what kind of standards a kennel actually meets — bronze through platinum.
Registered in the system, but the kennel has not yet been fully verified by PetRecords.
No issues found with the kennel or dog. The breeder meets PetRecords' standard of care and quality.
Health & genetic tests on file, verified by PetRecords. Premium quality and standards confirmed.
Full health, genetic, and OFA testing reviewed by PetRecords. Exceptional quality and standards met.
Registration fees are the same across all badge levels — $35. A replacement certificate with an updated badge costs $15.
Open registration is our limited-time intake window. During this period we accept dogs into our registry in two ways: (1) dogs already registered with the AKC or whose parents are AKC-registered, and (2) dogs verified through Embark genetic testing.
AKC-registered dogs (or those with AKC-stock pedigrees) are accepted on that basis alone. All further offspring will be automatically eligible.
Not every breeder uses AKC, and that shouldn't be a barrier. Any dog can enter through an Embark genetic test. Once we confirm the results, we mark the dog as eligible and move the process along.
Already Embarked? Post your link in the “Health Testing” portion of your dog's info page and send us a message — we'll get back to you shortly.
Once we move to closed registration we get strict about which dogs enter from the outside. Any dog descended from a PetRecords-registered dog will continue to be automatically eligible — outside dogs can still join, but the process is slightly more involved.
For AKC dogs: AKC information, a photocopy of the certificate (to validate level of rights), and any applicable purchase agreements. For non-AKC dogs: Embark testing plus purchase agreements where applicable.
We believe in a registry that's approachable and affordable. All registrations are $35. No hidden costs, no gotcha moments. Once a dog is registered, that registration follows it family to family.
We do not charge late registration fees or transfer fees. The only additional cost is a duplicate certificate ($15) if you lose yours or want a new copy printed with updated owner information.
You shouldn't have to pay to register a litter and then pay again to register each dog. Litters are not charged a registration fee — they're generated in our system the way you're already used to.
PetRecords offers three levels of registration: Pet Only, Limited Rights, and Full Rights. Limited and Full work much like the AKC equivalents.
A Limited Registration may, with the breeder/seller's permission, be upgraded to Full at some point. A Pet Only registration may never be upgraded — reserved for dogs that should never breed. This extra level brings more transparency and reduces confusion for future buyers.
$35 per registration. No transfer fees, no late fees, no surprises. Registrations follow a dog family to family — forever.
